Meet Dr. Dana Silagi

Dr. Dana graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Rutgers College, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine where she finished in the top 10% of her class. She then completed a Masters in Oral Biology and Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Maryland. During her training in orthodontics, Dr. Dana worked as part of the Cleft Lip and Palate team at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center. She is also Invisalign certified. Dr. Dana is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists.
 
Dr. Dana grew up in central New Jersey and met her husband while they both attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick.  Dr. Dana and her husband have a young daughter, Leora, who brings them both much happiness.  They are animals lovers and their family also includes two cats, Nory and Clarence.  Dr. Dana is conversational in Spanish and enjoys learning about other cultures. She believes it is important to give back to your community and has made philanthropy a key part of her professional and personal career. While at Columbia, she organized several outreach programs with the surrounding community. Dr. Dana is currently involved with Sunrise Day Camp Association, a nonprofit that provides free day camps and in-hospital programs to children with cancer and their siblings, where her husband is a director.
 
Dr. Dana chose a career in orthodontics because she believes that every person deserves to have a great smile and she loves seeing her patients develop confidence in themselves and their smile. She looks forward to many more smile transformations at Springfield Orthodontics!
